Babbularishta is an Ayurvedic medication that helps in the management of several respiratory conditions. Ingredients

Babbularishta is available in a liquid form and contains self-generated alcohol that serves as a media for the active compounds in the herbs. The herbal ingredients are smeared with ghee and stored in a sealed mud vessel for one month. Then, the contents are taken out, and filtered to obtain the medicinal extract. Babbularishta can be used in the treatment of acute and chronic bronchitis. It also reduces the production of mucus and liquefies the abnormal discharge thus relieving cough. It can reduce the intensity and frequency of the attacks of chronic bronchitis. It also possesses anti-bacterial properties, which help in eliminating the infections responsible for worsening bronchitis. It also prevents phthisis and blood in sputum that may occur due to the repeated attacks of bronchitis and cause weakening of the lung tissues.

Bronchial asthma

Babbularishta is an effective medication commonly used for treating asthma. Side effects of Babbularishta

Babbularishta is not known to cause serious side effects. It may cause mild irritation and burning sensation in the abdomen. This side effect can be avoided by taking the doses after meals. Recommended Dosage of Babbularishta

Patients can take Babbularishta in a dose of 10 ml once or twice a day. The dose may be increased to 20 ml twice a day if the symptoms are severe or the response to the lower dose is not satisfactory. This medicine should be used for a period of 2 to 4 months.
